OCHDA have agreed to support Argyll & Bute Council's decision to make Oban a Municipal Port by 2023 (in spite of declaring in 2019 that they have no interest and no skill for that) since there would otherwise be a lot of powerful opposition (A&BC, CMAL) to OCHDA's objective, a community trust port. OCHDA still aspires to the Trust Port eventually but a Municipal Port would be an improvement on the current situation.
