Apparently - as this is a relatively old boat - the decision was taken some time ago not to salvage her.
The latest inside word is that she will be cheesewired where she sits, already the engine room has seawater and sand in it.

I can't say I'm suprised at that. Was it built in 1977 or somat, it's well old for a ship.

I took my Crew to have a look at the beast at the w/e, it's not aground, it's ashore!

The Beeb still seem to be being told that there is a salvage operation:

My Crew in Preston sent me that link. Mind removing the fuel oil could still be the first step in chopping it up into little bits.

They should get the lads from the Alang Shipyards in Gujurat India over here. They run old cruise ships up the beach and 100's of them swarm all over her and she's cut down to the bottom plates in a few weeks. Health and safety would enjoy it though, when I saw ithem they were using bamboo scaffolding and not a plastic hat to be seen. :D :D

A report on Look North West last night was on about Spring tides next week, that sounded more like floating it off talk than owt else.

It's supposed to be aproximate to a sewer pipe too, and a cable to the IoM, or was it Ireland?

It could all be smoke and mirrors to make it sound interesting.
