Nae wind. Again
As sailors, how do we feel about great weather but nae wind? I've always thought the med was a nice place to go on holiday but wouldn't want to sail there permanently. We seem to have had a med summer, unless you were far enough north to get 15 degrees and fog. But still nae wind with that either.

Re: Nae wind. Again
Where I've sailed in the Med - Malta; Sciliy; Corfu; Croatia and a circumnavigation of the Peleponese from Corfu there has never been a lack of wind. You sometimes have to wait till about 15:00 local till it starts but more often than not you can time an egg by it. Generally lasts till sunset.
Only place that I've sailed with very little wind was in Majorca. It was very expensive too.
Edit: Not time and egg. Set a watch.
Regards
Donald.

Re: Nae wind. Again
Not really been anywhere in boatie this summer...
He-haw wind in the forecast and a lack of trust in my engine kept me otherwise occupied.
Then I fcuk Ed my knee.
Still hirpling about so decided to go off in the MoHo next week instead.doubt I could manage the companionway more that a couple of times and not in a sea way.

Re: Nae wind. Again
I have only sailed in the Med in dinghies, hired by the hour on the beach in San Antonio in Ibiza. Out of 14 days we sailed on only 5. A few days were too calm to be bothered but most of the days we couldn't sail were because it was blowing like hell. Since that holiday ( which was in 1972) we have only been on the Med in cruise ships and have seen some very violent weather.

I have heard cruising the Med described as "motoring between gales".
