I have now reduced our membership from over 20,000 users to 679.
Any user who had never made a post up to the beginning of the current month was deleted. This was a mammoth operation that has taken me nearly two hours as there is a limit ot the size of SQL query the software can execute.
However, it is done and Captcha V3 is now implemented, which seems to have slowed the flood of spam signups to a trickle. I will tweak the 'spam score' to see if I can reduce this even further.
I intend to regularly purge people who sign up and do not make a post in their first month, so use it or lose it, folks.
