Just back from Barcaldine, boat looking forlorn, cockpit full of leaves.
Unfortunately I missed the debate caused by the sight of a Scottish ensign. I do apologise, little or no political statement was intended. Chips, wedges, I don't know.
But talking of chips, I can't speak highly enough of fish and chips at the Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum ( no connection)
Good sailing

Always used to stop there at its predecessor on the way to Glencoe, another excellent breakfast stop used to be the wee caff on the platform at Crianlarich station, is it still there?Ocklepoint wrote:

I think the Glen Ogle burger van is away seasonally. The previous incumbent retired this summer but passed the business over to another couple, who seemed to be giving it the same dedication as their predecessors did. I live in hope anyway, sharing as I do the route from Edinburgh to Barcaldine of a weekend (not in the winter though, the boat's currently resting in Dunstaffnage).

It was advertising itself as open (and "independent" of the railway!) when I passed it last week, during a huge detour caused by the A83 being shut at Arrochar.
