Hello to all,

Stumbled across this website while doing research on sailing in Scotland. Hoping to sail the west coast and the islands in a few years.

My wife was born in Dundee and grew up Glasgow and Edinburgh. We currently live in the states and plan to cross the Atlantic in a few years when the kids are older.

I started blue water sailing in 2000 and plan to earn my Captain's License this spring. Most of my sailing experience is based on the east coast of the US. I have been offshore and through the US Intra-Coastal Waterway.

Looking forward to meeting people and exchanging information.

Welcome aboard Dan,

This isn't particularly a Scottish site, but it does have a large Scottish contingent.

We keep our boat (Albin Vega 27) in Balvicar, just South of Oban. It is a beautiful sailing area, and we look forward to seeing you when you make it across the pond (asssuming we haven't gone South to warmer climes - global warming hasn't really done Scotland any favours yet)
