Hello,
Should the black, negative wires be connected to the shunt instead of the battery. After the refit, the BEP voltage / charger thingy does not show current when charging.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alastair
Wind Powered Charger / Shore Powered Charger - Black Wire Connection
Re: Wind Powered Charger / Shore Powered Charger - Black Wire Connection
If you want the charging current to be measured then the black should be at the away-from-battery end of the shunt I think.
This is based on knowing nothing at all about your setup, but guessing that it's like most with the ammeter shunt in the battery negative line.

Re: Wind Powered Charger / Shore Powered Charger - Black Wire Connection
Derek,
The shunt is on the large diameter black cable that goes to the domestic battery negative (not sure about the starter black cable). I'll investigate moving both the wind powered charger and the shore powered charged black wires to the stud on the shunt.
Thanks.
Alastair
