Stupid Mobile Phone

Post by marisca »

I have invested my OAP into a Pelagic Autotiller all the way frae California. It's a clever beastie with gyros and compasses and goodness knows what else. The colonials (ex-Spanish?) have released a new software issue and I was cleverly recalibrating its compass on my desk. What I needed was magnetic north and my phone has a compass app so off I went. Took me a bit to find my problem - there is about 30deg error between phone pointing north and south and east west are not orthogonal. What a useless, stupid, possibly dangerous device.

Oh aye, but usually to people I don't want to talk to from safely inside a pocket. Sometimes it even lets me answer a call before switching to voice mail, but not often.
