Sailing from Edinburgh
If you lived in or near Edinburgh, where would you keep your boat for day sailing or week long trips?
I must go down to the sea again...

Rhu. Direct train from Edinburgh to Helensburgh. Or Ardrossan and change trains in Glasgow. With due respect to the salt'n'saucers, the downside of the travelling is easily outdone by the sailing advantages of the west coast.

Gourock. Bus to Buchanan St, next stance is for Gourock, takes ~2 hours. Or ~1.5 hours by car.

And with a bus pass that's a free bus journey to Gourock.
I'm in West Lothian (not quite Edinburgh). Takes 1h30 by bus, or 1h15 by car, but the car costs a lot more.
