Lochalsh pontoons

Post by cpedw »

Does anyone know the current position?
A report iin TOP says they are back at last but Tripadvisor 3 days ago said they are still not working.
The community trust website also says 'closed'.
Anyone got a casting vote?

Came past early Friday morning and there seemed to be one in (or almost) in place so should be sorted and usable by now. Their lack has certainly put pressure on the visitors moorings in Plockton, compounded by the arrogant gentleman with the glass bottom boat making himself harbourmaster at Kyleakin.

Just sail up, if they are not there, they are not there, anchor or go alongside the harbour. There is a lot of consternation around these pontoons suggesting that their absence is akin to an ELE from a meteor impact.

The word on their websiteis now
"In 2019 season, we’ve been delayed with opening the pontoons due to unexpected problems, however our facility will be open from 14th July."
