exploded in Tarbert, Loch Fyne in 1939.
She was owned by my late Brother in Law's Grandfather and I'm trying to gather information about the yacht and the incident which proved to be her demise.
Any of you researchers out there point me in any direction?

Possibly not - I think I might try the Oban Times archive as a starting point then perhaps look up Mr Cameron in any Tarbert information there might be.
Its a fascinating log I have of the summer cruise - they started in Glasgow and there are a couple of photos of Queen Elizabeth being fitted out. This was August 1939 - so the last few days of peace and then Juma was lost through an explosion in the October whilst moored in Tarbert.

The Scotsman archive can be found after having a drink at Grey Friars Bobby pub and then walk northwards towards the Mound and about halfway along can be found the Scottish museum archive which includes the Scotsman archive. All or nearly all the editions are kept as pdf’s which you can search. I found my grandfather’s goings on dated 1908 there. It also holds the Edinburgh Evening News archive which is useful. It was free to use.

Edinburgh is wasteful of this treasure trove and the recent bankruptcy of the Scotsman’s immediate owners threatens the existence of it unless the toon cooncil takes control. Hopefully, ah’ve got this wrong and the Barclay brothers did something right for the first time in their lives. The more people use it the better the chance of it surviving.

I can only offer words of encouragement to keep digging in Google and such like resources. I eventually traced RNLI family members and the lifeboat, now a derelict, that my great uncle died on. The search was google based, just kept clicking on links, using different search terms and stuff started popping up.
