Shirley not. I thought that Cleit Rock already had a perch. It's the unseen " Claymore 's Rock " that needs a marker. It would be pretty hard to hit Cleit Rock, the bow wave around it seems to push you clear.

Ash, says the veteran of only 3 transits. :troll:

If ‘they’ put a perch on the nasty wee unmarked rock it will drastically reduce the local boat yards work load....

They'd be better stringing some floating traffic cones together and sectioning off the fekkmepink area altogether.

Entirely agree. (Despite lots of transits.)

Naaa, that wouldn't work it would mean that folk have to take their eyes off their plotter and look at the scenery.

.
Hitting Cleit Rock going W-E on full ebb is entirely possible. The pilot is spot on when it says the tide can carry you onto it.

I've been going through for 18 years, and last August came as close as I've ever been to hitting the Cleit while attempting to sail through on the full Spring ebb with flukey winds. Depth was down to 2.4m when I finally resorted to the motor.

Anything is possible.
