Heading to Kip for the winter to reduce the driving time to the boat but will keep the boat in the water. Spring time will need to haul out for anti-fouling.

Already lifted out in the third week of August and snug with mast down at Creran. Off tomorrow to France, Spain and Portugal for 8 weeks in the motorhome. Too many hobbies..

Stopping on the mooring in TV this year, the insurance seems to agree with me that a swinging mooring in Tayvallich is better than a pontoon in Tarbert.
Still got to get the antifouling thing sorted at a reasonable time. Early season when I want to do it yards are full of boats and the management is more interested in putting them back in than taking me out.

Just thinking about it now. I wonder if we shall end up being winter electrical *uck-up neighbours again? I have interior decorating to do this winter! Nothing mechanical or electrical other than nav light replacement and a new spinnaker pole mast fitting as we have bought a new pole after bending ours in the Round Mull Race. It's quite interesting driving with a 6 metre carbon pole on the car roof. On the road from Tyndrum to Dalmally we passed a speed trap cop car - they gave us a Paddingtonesque long hard stare but didn't follow with the blue lights we were expecting...

Sea Hawk came out of the water on 11 July, following the engine-oil-in-the-bilge foul-up. The new engine is finally in place but not yet fully installed. I don't think we will bother relaunching till the spring.

I'm thinking we should have done the same once the summer cruise was over - I have all these grandiose plans about Indian Summers and Autumnal cruises but as usual, they are all coming to nought. Claymore Towers has no kitchen floor at present, there's a stack of heat reflective plates, polypipe, manifolds and sanded floorboards which I ought to get finished by Tuesday.Spent last night cleaning out a cavity wall and dropping wires down for the new kitchen appliances. We have an electric kettle and are cooking on the woodburner and then there is the pressure of Para coming to stay before we get a final few days on the boat. It will piddle down and blow, the sails will come off and the car will be full of wet gear and the dozing Para on the way home.
