I bet it's actually easier to make a solid one from ply/glass... they are kinda ugly though!

Wouldn't the stove be more effective inside the sprayhood rather than outside?

It's probably a lot easier than assembling the Ikea Kallax cube. I believe green is an unlucky colour to have on a boat, probably just an old superstition, but you never know with these things.

Everything on Fairwinds is green, and she has been pretty lucky for me.

Certainly less well ventilated than the old one. A fine job.
I also approve of your alternative use for a winch handle holder :)
