Strange light in the sky.
After a week of pish the skies cleared yesterday and a most unusual light appeared in the sky. It brought warmth and has reappeared this morning. Is this to herald the shortening of the days?

I noticed a fall of yellow stuff from the sky too.
Someone said its sunshine, but I wouldn't know about that, not much experience of that for a few decades.

We're hoping to get away for a few days from tomorrow. That'll be the end of the good weather then

The weather should hold until the end of the week when I plan to set off...

I'm off to France for 2 weeks boating. I expect the weather to be poor - temps way too high, sun too fierce, too dry, no wind...

Nose now pressed against the window watching it chucking it down.

I blame you lot. Don't you realise you jinx it when you mention warmth or sun? I was happy drifting around yesterday watching the gannets at Ailsa Craig, popped into Twistymouthtown for a swim, read your posts an woke up to wind and rain. Stopped raining but the cloud is at mast height. Mid-bloody summer indeed!

Re: Strange light in the sky.
Yesterday on Arran - it was baking. I was painting house exterior.
This morning, woke to drizzle and poor vis.
On the way over to Ardrossan to do some boat stuff the general opinion ( ie excluding S&E Englandshire) was that normal Scottish weather had resumed service, with more of the same to come.
Summer was a couple of weeks ago....?

Now in Campbeltown after a cold but pleasant sail down from Kames. Quite nice here.

Well. Came skooshing up the Kilbrennan Sound yesterday after a good decision not to go either to Rathlin or Gigha. Home for a couple of days before trying again though have to be back in the Clyde on Saturday for a Saboo do.

Re: Strange light in the sky.
Whilst enjoying the best holiday we've ever had, cycling the Hebridean Way, I ventured into the Kirk on the road to Castlebay on Barra for shelter from the driving rain and 40kn wind and paid my dues. I came out to a more than unusual light in the sky in these parts, the sun. I shook my head in wonder and later recounting this story to a passing friend, called sausage roll, he described my powers as supernatural and would I get intae the fekking church across the road and work the same miracle ...claymore wrote:After a week of pish the skies cleared yesterday and a most unusual light appeared in the sky. I can still hear the grand sound of Karen Matheson singing Goodbye to Berneray in my ears ....
