Has anyone on here been to Rockall?
I'm looking for some local knowledge. How long did it take to get there? From where did you set off? Weather differences? Tidal flow there? Did you land?
Even if you passed by on the way to no-where else that would be interesting.

Re: Rockall experience
I bumped into Jim MacIlraith (Survey one) at Craobh in july, he had just returned from a trip to Rockall in his boat. It may be worth dropping him a line? Maybe he is writing it up for one of the mags.

I went with Jim on Saboo. I'm sure Jim is going to write up an article. Awesome place. We were very lucky in that the morning we go out to Rockall the weather abated and we were able to get quite close to the rock.
I'll not steal Jim's thunder and let him do his write-up.
Claymore - no wigs but there were funny hats. I'll post some pictures when we get back from the US.

Re: Rockall experience
That sounds good.
Since I wrote the OP, I've discovered an account of a trip on a Rival 34, in 1977.
Some more recent experience would be good. After all, rocks sometimes move!
