Kip Boat Show

Post by Nick »

.

Anyone else been? Met Aquaplane and Lady Stormrider on the pontoon this afternoon.

Had a look at an HR37 and arranged a test drive in a Model S Tesla.

Just need to win the lottery tonight now.

I was there this morning and until about 2pm. Though it better than other years.
Grandson asked while walking along the pontoon if there were any sharks in there.
"Yes, I said, lets go over to the new boat section and meet some".
Geoff.

I was there Friday and Saturday ... might pop along this afternoon. I am not in the market for a boat but thought that there were some that looked like bargains - A Moody 31 for just over £19k is the cheapest I have seen by far and it looks OK - I guess it needs a new engine or some other major work. Similarly an M346 at just over £31k and again it looks nice but I suspect there are hidden challenges. The Centaur at £8.5k looked expensive.
Met Dylan and a few others.

I was there on Fri. Enjoyed it. The big gold benny had the wow factor. I particularly went to see the Hanse 415 as I'm chartering one next year. I wasn't disappointed.

I planned to go on Saturday on my way home from Craobh - even had a ticket for the RYA free lunch - but was feeling lousy so went straight home and into bed with what's either a very bad cold or possibly flu.

Pete - Do you have any background information / insider knowledge on this one? Or is only that the price seems too low? I believe that she changed owners a year ago, do you happen to know what price she was advertised at in 2015? She has a bow thruster, but electronics need to be upgraded. She is an 1987 @ £31,250.

There are 4 others in the local area advertised for sale, with differing levels of equipment.

1986 @ £35,000
1990 @ £41,500
1987 @ £44,000
1989 @ £44,500

Cheers

Ash

No - I saw that she looked OK and was cheap - I did wonder if there are issues with the engine or something else fairly costly.

Buyers market/ keen seller for the 346?

The 35 they have looked tidy.

Did you look at the 38? when I looked at it a while ago it was sticky to the touch inside and the engine mounts were not even done up on one side. Other horrors were lurking.

If you fancied a project it might be OK, but at the thick end of £80k? That boat prompted the delusional boat seller thread, along with a few others I've seen.

We were with Ash on a Vega and Mrs Ash that weekend - They have expressed an interest in a Moody whilst at the boat show and have had two viewings. This was whilst bumping into Blue Berry Hill (latterly of this Forum). We also bumped into LOADS of people as well as Maiden Elaine on the Inspiration Boats.

Dylan was there as well!
