Is the plastimo Iris 50 the only rubber puck compass made these days?
My old one has sprung a leak and refuses to stay repaired for any length of time.
Can I justify £50 for something I don't really like the look of and now seems to come in children's welly boot colours? - no.
Any old sestrels lying idle anywhere?

I have 5 binoculars including zoom and image-stabilised. Yup, you're right I don't have compass, range-finder or night vision built in so I could do with a few more.
Anyway, I gorilla-glued a plastic disc to the (cracked) bottom (diaphragm) of the leaky unit and this time filled it with lamp oil rather than turps.
It's a Plastimo mini compass and seems OK so far, though I was disappointed to note that the lanyard has turned into a pile of UV powder and the rubber is feeling a little tacky. I'm not sure I'll get another 30 years from it.

What's the issue with prising out the tritium thing then fitting an LED and lithium cell. The tritium isn't tritting any more so I guess it'll be OK as long as I don't actually eat it. I'll recycle with the electronic stuff. The compass keeps making bubbles so I still have a leak somewhere but it should be usable for a season between refilling. I can cope with the sticky rubber for now.
Actually, I don't really use it that often, it's just that I used to and it's a shame to actively dismiss old skills - just in case.

I have a spare one as I lost it for a while and of course found it the moment I'd replaced it.
