I am planning on a trip mid July to the faroes and as it is somewhere I will probably only go to once am looking to save so me money by begging, borrowing or buy at a reasonable price electronic charts for either my Garmin451 or Raymarine rl70 chart plotters.

If you get really stuck I have paper charts. Not expecting to use them until about 2018 at earliest!

Thanks Geoff. I already have the paper charts and red scare book but like most people nowadays use the chart plotter as primary source of navigation. I have got Navtronics charts on a tablet but would normally only use this as a backup to the boats plotter

An alternative may be "iSailor"
"iSailor" is a free chartplotter app, the charts are an extra "in app" purchase: £25.99 for the pack that includes the Faroes and Northern Isles
It works on my Apple devices, not sure about other platforms. I prefer it to the Navionics app and it has the advantage of displaying AIS info.
(No connection to the company, just a satisfied customer)
