Ah don't worry the stuff in the top pic is not carrying traffic anymore. The little wires in the bottom pic are however carrying thousands more calls than the nice coloured ones ever could.

I bet the nightshift is far more restful these days.

The nightshift?

Back in the 70s, the PO Telephones proposal for System X staffing agreement was one Engineer and a dog.

The Engineer was there to feed the dog, and the dog was there to stop the engineer fiddling about with the equipment.
