My email to the director of Dunstaffnage, so far with out any response
To Neil McLachian
I take you are aware that the marine was closed last weekend ? I travel up from Edinburgh to use my boat only to find you closed, however as you have just serviced my boat and had the keys I was unable to gain access to use the boat.
You are the most expensive marina on the west coast, is this your new new policy to closed at weekend when clients require help or assistance.
Even your contact phone numbers went to answer machines,
I waited four hours for someone to turn up, and I find out today that your offices where closed all weekend.
The customer service from this marina are the worst I have ever encounted, and now have wasted my weekend and cost me money, which I will be looking to have refunded
I would like to think you will take the time to reply to this complaint
Regards

.
I have spoken to others and I understand the marina was effectively closed all day, with no staff available and the phones going straight to answering machine.
Anyone know what was going on?

I hope that this doesn't bode for worse news...
We haven't been there for a few years now, the service seemed to depart along with the departure of 1 person.

I think you are correct, we spent quite a bit of time in Dunstaffnage, great place, except in certain wind directions (rare).mm5aho wrote:I hope that this doesn't bode for worse news...

Not the same since Tim left and if Bobs not there then, time to move on I think.
I don't think anything will change for the better until one individual steps aside.

Re: DUNSTAFFNAGE MARINA CLOSED
Can only agree with what has been said above. Its a great location, and if the eternally promised, but never delivered, breakwater pontoon had been installed it would be perfect setup. It would then only need the return of some much missed staff , or folk their equal to make it one of the best marinas in the UK. Its not going to happen with the current management. So until they are no longer part of running ( I use the word running in the loosest sense) the place, it will lurch on a sad downward slope.
I wish you luck Lady Anne with your hopes of a satisfactory response, my communications with the management were amusingly delusional.
The chandlery at Alba sailing is always worth a stop though
