Slightly surprised. Was it the strength/direction of the wind or was it the big Atlantic swell sweeping in and breaking up?

Where is this, I don't have any books at home and Google isn't co-operating?

I'm guessing it's in the outer part of the Loch before you get to the leading lines guiding you through the first narrows which I forget the name of.

I tucked up into the corner on the left as you enter a few weeks ago. It was perfectly calm. Must be the effect Wee Davey has

On the north side of the outer part of Loch Tarbert; it's the more westerly of the two bays facing Glenbatrick Bay.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look at the chart when I get to Chiron.

We are away for a week from Friday night so get the sun factor out, it's going to be bright and sunny with F4 beam reaches wherever we want to go!

The wind was NW4 or so, and had been steady for about a day. I thought the bay was deep enough to give shelter, but the waves seemed to get refracted round the corner. I think it was caused by the wind rather than underlying swell.

BA 2481 shows BGRB as the more easterly of the two bays facing Glenbatrick. I choose it in preference to BGRM because it was deeper and (I thought) better sheltered.

Cuan Mor Bay would probably have been better, but it's not very big and there was another boat already there.

Have only ever anchored in Glenbatrick Bay - which I was never very comfy with and

Cuan Mor Bay which is a delight!

Correct. I was thinking of BGRM. Apologies.
