I could look back in the Red Ledger but I'm fairly sure that taking the Friday off is obligatory.
The Muzz and I were amazed how many conferences took place on that day that we just had to go to when we were working.

According to my piece of string, it is only about 11nm as the shitehawk flies frae Dallens Bay to Oban. Would you care for some suggestions on books covering the art of sail trimming? :razz

11.6nm

I passage plan at 5 knots when I am feeling optimistic.

The tide will be 'agin'

Please publish your sail trimming tips that allow you to achieve 7 kts through the water to windward - I am sure we would all find these very valuable.

Aye, but you are not sailing a chromatically challenged behemoth with a brand new Owen mainsail. I would not regard agin the tide and wind as entirely "favourable conditions". While the leviathon may not make 7 kts VMG, it really should manage 7 kts through the watter with a wee bit of wind.

Whatever. I think we were discussing where to meet up on a Friday evening.

Ok - if Fairwinds and Avilion can be away lunchtime Friday to be beyond Cuan, and if Wully is similarly minded re Dorus Mor, then unless there is a Northerly gale prevailing, it makes sense to assemble in the Oban Area.
Is Kerrera still being built, as it was last year?
Does Pullers appeal?

If there's a Northerly gale we might not even get out to the mooring but otherwise P*********n or Kerrera would be fine for us. A brisk breeze from N Of W could even get us South of Cuan so we should be optimistic and confer a day or two ahead when a forecast is known. .
