Where we're going, we don't need boatyards...

For reasons or parsimony and convenience, we have invested in a set of legs for the new boat. Tried them out for the first time this weekend. I was a bit nervous, especially as we ran late and the tide was on the ebb by the time we got the boat into position. However it meant that I could walk back to my house, and get all the little underwater jobs done more or less at my leisure. It's great to know that I can dry her out again so easily. Our nearest suitable harbour wall is about a day's sail away and it is much easier to have unobstructed access to both sides.

It dawned on me last season that I have been sailing my 3' draught Centaur like my dad sailed his 4'6" draught fin keeler.

I'm certainly going to try to think a bit more like Dylan and dry out more when it's suitable.
