Christiania Havn

Post by wully »

I've just spent my half day off cycling round Copenhagen and the best part was along Chritiania Havn- the range of boats there was from half sunken heaps through MABs then quickly passing the relatively few AWB's to funky house boats and ending with full rigged sailing ships.

Can't wait for the summer!

And no, I did not indulge myself when I visited Christiania, Free State Of, earlier on.....

She's not that round, I think she's been dieting.

Yup! Quite enjoying it although it's been flat out busy. :violin:

Copenhagen is by far the nicest city I've ever been to.

I can quite relate to exploring the maritime bits of anywhere I go...
A few months back, going from Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) to Stavanger - by way of road and more ferries, we heard about major roadworks near Hamburg, with no very easy way round them.
SWMBO (land navigating officer- geographer) finds a ferry across the Elbe about 5 miles west of Hamburg. That will do she said, so hard a port and down the S side of the Elbe for a bit.
Tiny wee ferry , 10 min wait, 20min sail. Interesting. Yachts still out in the gloaming both up & down the river, several marinas in sight..
Did the same examination of Kolding and Hirtshals harbour in Danmark..

Strangely enough SWMBO seems to object less to these observations than in the past? :D
