Post by finjolla »

Can anyone help in locating a person/company that can bend 1" stainless steel pipe (pushpit and pullpit) in Scotland I live in Moray.

Luckily for you the whisky industry uses stainless piping - Google "Stainless steel fabricators Moray" and get phoning.

Ok, bum idea. I used Alu-Tech in Oban a few years ago to straighten my pulpit. Have you tried asking the Caley boat renter who they use?

There are many fabricators in Moray. When you say that you've tried them all, maybe some are not so obvious?

GaelForce, AJ, Brown, Fleetwood, Celtic Food (who do SS), Mitchell, McKerron, Taylor, JK, Philip Eng, Burnside, Paterson, Almacit, all spring to mind as possibilities.

Two companies do food equipment fabrication in stainless.
If its only bending and not welding then many plumbers are well equipped for bending copper.

I had the same problem down in Kip a few years ago. I had (i think) a 48mm stainless tube I needed to bend and attach to my stern arch, which my wind generator was going to be mounted on.
Gave up trying to find somebody to do it and hired the kit, and did it myself, very easy to do.

Thanks for all your all your help, I went to Caleydonian Sheet metals in Inverness and they are going to make a new
pullpit and pushpit, I just supply the materials and make deck templates.
I can relax and concentrate on the rest of the repairs.
cheers all.
