Official end of CC2014

Post by Silkie »

As I write there are no two boats in the same location and although Shard, Fairwinds and Silkie are still out they are respectively in Tobermory, PD and Oban and so it is fairly safe to say that the 2014 cruise is now over.

We'll anchor tonight in South Bernera Bay, making it a short hop to pick up new crew tomorrow.

Yes it was a lovely albeit a brief reunion. I am amazed at how well the passage of time has treated all - well, apart from Para.
We tracked Avilion all the way across to Pullers - All credit to wee Davey, there were some show stopping dollops of water hitting our windscreen - the type that no sailing clothes are built to withstand. we were very early at Pladda and went looking for back eddies down the Scarba shore - didn't really find much and plugged away at 0.5knots over the ground for a very tediously long time - at least it was flat in the sound.
Now back in Claymore Towers and detailed to cleaning duties in preparation for the arrival of the Daneland dwellers tomorrow.
Regards
Claymore

Sorry not to have seen/met anyone. Arrived at Ardfern on the Saturday and found Claymore on the visitors pontoon. Rain stopped play for a few days but eventually got north. Saw Shard in the p place on the Thursday evening - was going to say hello Friday am but you left. Had hoped you would say hello but realised that our name was not visible (dodgers not yet installed and our name on the sterrn obscured by a large dan buoy) - we were the westerly conway and were the outermost boat in the anchorage.

Hooe to meet some of you during the course of the summer .....

Sorry about that, but I'm sure we'll catch up some time this season. Good sailing!

Unfortunately we made the mistake of leaving the dodgers on at Ardfern this winter - they did not survive unscathed so are waiting at home for something serious sewing. As there is no way to identify us at the mo i will will take the initiative should we see anyone !

The Favourite pic of your boat thread should help with identification of BMers. Perhaps stick one of your boat up there while you're at it? And anyone else who feels the urge to show off their pride and joy too of course.
