Interesting initiative and I wish it it well, although, must admit, couldn't understand why the director of Oceanwise thought the area between Ailsa Craig and Kintyre/Arran was significant. The sea bottom in that area isn't really of much interest to leisure sailors, and the few fishing boat skippers still around in the area probably know the ground like the back of their hands.
I think the Antares Charts approach is much more interesting for yotties. Having said that, the crowd sourced approach sounds like a great idea. and could significantly increase knowledge of our waters.
