Failing an answer, the winter fuel allowance(s), I'm assuming I'll get hersel's, will be spent on the yard handyman who did such a good job last year sanding the sandblasted hull.

It sounds that in buying a product emblazoned with '2000' you are going for a somewhat dated model - perhaps a sort of XP version?
To get up to Windows 8 in the world of boaty shiney stuff you need to be buying something that claims to be 'Nano'

I do notice a distinct lack of an oil refinery belching out filth and muck around Ardfern and also that oor watters are gin clear instead of the soupy sewerage that passes as sea water in the wonderful Solent - home of British yachting according to the yotty press at any rate.

Perhaps thats why our craft don't require much in the way of chemical cleaning?

I have no knowledge of Obans toilets or salmon farm pollutants but can state with certainty that the waters if Argyll are far clearer than the wonderful Browny green soup in the Solent.
As for a pishin contest I would warn you that as Mrs Wully is away visiting family I have been home alone with a rather large festive cairy-oot of various ales which have had a large dent made in them c 'est soir. Consequently I am currently in a very strong position ( albeit an uncomfortable one) should the need arrive for a competitive slash.

Oh, no. I have in fact cooked the Christmas lunch for all of them today (they all spent Christmas Day at the in-laws) plus the dog. This requires greater energy levels than normal and one can't afford to waste it debating the respective cleanliness of bits of sea.

The menu was:
Smoked salmon blinis with sour cream, capons and salad leaves to start
Turkey with sprouts, roasties, red cabbage, bread sauce, cranberries, carrots, stuffing, and chipolatos
Too fekked for the pud, so microwaved a lidl job ....
