Electricity in Crinan basin

Post by Storyline »

I am planning a short October cruise from Ardfern and fancy spending a couple of nights in the basin at Crinan.
As we have no heating aboard it would be nice to have a cosy fan heater going in the evening. It is many years since we have been in there and then there was no electrical power supply for moored boats. Does anyone know if this is still the case ?

Not sure about the basin but I'm sure there is power alongside just above the basin, give them a phone?

Or fit a heater....

It's a few years since I came through the Crinan, but ISTR all the available space in Crinan basin was taken up by semi-permanently moored boats and boats on transit moored above lock 14.

You may be lucky and be close enough to a vacant socket. Some seem to be allocated to residents and are locked and others are few and far between. Luckily, October is going to be balmy and pleasant just to piss off all those who have just taken their boats out the water.

Cheers for the replies - just had a look from Google Earth - it is many years since I have been in there and it looks a lot smaller than I remember it !
I will call them a few days before to see if there is space.
