Re: Places we have not been
It's more than 30 years since I was last in Strontian. It was the start point for a circumnavigation of Mull: 3 of us in a 18' Caprice. This involved a beach launch which really didn't go very well.
On my previous visit, a few years before, the mountaineering club camped on what, in the morning, turned out to be the village green...
Both excellent suggestions: always happy to go to less frequented places.

Salen sounds fine. Re Strontian, I don't have the SDs in front of me, but, from memory, I don't think the anchoring is all that great there - IIRC the ground shelves in quite steeply and it is a bit exposed in westerlies.

Heffens above, these pontoon things are springing up everywhere.
I forsee a generation in the not-too-distant future that will scoff at anchor threads.

Are those things you wear? Or is it a disparaging reference to those who don't use all-chain rodes?
