I can't find a material spec on the site but are they not mostly a rubber and cork mixture with a coating of some kind on one surface?

That's a good description without actually analysing the compostition - I think I read vinyl somewhere when I was trawling through the adverts prior to ordering.
There's fekking gluey fingerprints all over the boat at the moment - so there won't be too much of my meths left for Friday night up the close, and ye canny get sterrheid gas ferra mulk onymair.

I thought the tops of the coamings were a surface too far but the bloke was dead chuffed with his handywork.

This is the stuff


The original was painted blue, but is gradually being 'woodenised'. Chiselling off the old stuff was a pain - the bit on the left is veneer on top of the old treadmaster.
..............But unfortunately Photobucket's new super-delooper platform is a crock of poo, and is now a dead pail.

The blue stuff had been painted and is the same material as we are applying now. It will get veneered as well.
The seats had been roughly chiselled and slats added by a previous owner. I removed them and threw them in the punt so I don't have to be so particular with the bailer and sponge.



They were diabastrical on the seats, as anything dropped was irretrievable.



The newly-covered seats are now easily cleaned, non-slip and the locker lids now open fully and stay up.
