Removed uncomfortable and annoying wooden slats from the seats to reveal a mess where previously something had been stuck on after scoring the GRP and timber. (so it definately needs covered)
I suspect the original covering was Trackmark which is no longer available.
I don't like Treadmaster in this application as it gets dirty and we get waffle-bum. (May look at Treadmaster smooth, though)
I have found TBS by Passage - http://www.proboat.co.uk/item.asp?cat_i ... =311&dep=2 but haven't actually touched or seen it.
Anyone experienced it and also how econonomical is it compared to Treadmaster?
Otherwise I'm considering Hempel lumpy paint or similar.
Or- has anyone got other ideas? - It's an open-backed but tented wheelhouse scenario rather than cockpit if that's pertinant.

I've no experience of TBS, but on a previous boat I covered the cockpit seats with the smoother version of Treadmaster (the one with a pattern that looks a bit like aluminium checker plate rather than sharp edged diamonds) which worked fine. I had some left over, but after 3 house moves it's disappeared.

Great minds Dave. I had a look at the manufacturer's site and found the smooth stuff.
It's similar to the original trackmark as far as I can see, cheaper than other outlets, free delivery, and on order as we speak!

Too late to be of assistance since you've already purchased but I put smooth Treadmaster on Silkie's cockpit seats etc. about 8 years ago and think it is excellent. Very grippy underfoot when wet (without the dermal imprinting) and still looks as good as new.

Measure thrice and cut once. I made only one mistake - assuming that two edges were perpendicular. Naturally the actual angle was greater rather than less than 90 degrees resulting in a complete re-think of the rest of the cutting plan to compensate for the wasted piece.

So that's how all these people seem to know so much, thanks Dave!
Eamonn, it's 2mm thick 1200 x 900 mm sheet made of sort of vinyly stuff - easy to cut and work, and according to others above seems to last as long as it says on the tin.
One sheet and a helping of 2-pack glue cost me £82.30 all in. There will be plenty of glue left over as it fits 2 sheets, so I will be able to splat the spare into a little individual bilge I am making for the speed log transducer.
Only problem is the edges which I can't properly feature in this installation due to the previous mollocating of the gelcoat and the tight corners involved.
