Fleece blankets
Always keep a couple of fleece blankets aboard in case your hatch jams open at 21.00 on a Friday night in January. With the help of a couple of weights to keep them in place they can cover the open hatch as an effective preventative measure against hypothermia.
Might I recommend Polarvide from IKEA?

Is this a regular occurence for Vegas? Never happened in 25 years with my westerly so hardly worth worrying about. But then, it wouldn't really matter cos the full cockpit enclosure makes all the difference.

OK, so it's Hurleys that the doors fall off then? I was going to correct my post, but editting doesn't seem to be permitted. So it goes.

I'm not sure who is on the rota tonight - I'll check the database and get right back to you.
(Actually, wasn't it your shift?)

One hour for editting? Any reason for that or just paranoia?
Oh & only 3 quotes embedded! So many rules - so little point!

Do you feel better now after that whinge?Arghiro wrote: One hour for editting? Any reason for that or just paranoia?

The 3 quotes is the standard setting - I don't even know where to change it.
Unlimited editing time can be set but poses potential dangers from the viewpoint of moderation. Why would you want to change a post over an hour after making it anyway? An hour seemed like a sensible time and no-one else has ever complained about it in over ten years.

This seems like a good opportunity for a referendum. Anything to keep the general consciousness away from important matters like sailing.Nick wrote:Do you feel better now after that whinge?Arghiro wrote: One hour for editting? Any reason for that or just paranoia?

I like to mull things over & sometimes decide that further elucidation would help those for whom English is not their first language - so to speak.Nick wrote:Do you feel better now after that whinge?Arghiro wrote: One hour for editting? Any reason for that or just paranoia?

No matter, now I know the rules I shall continue to ignore them.
