This is the new 'fingers crossed' thread.

Well, Chrome is telling me that the DNS has now propagated - at least as far as the view from Webcraft Towers is concerned.

A result of this is that the original 'fingers crossed' thread has now vanished. This is because I posted it AFTER the site had been copied to the new server.

So - if you are looking at this (replacement) thread then you are looking at the site on the new server. At first glance all looks well.

Well, I can see it so hopefully all is well. I missed the first thread but I take it that you were attempting something more complicated than changing provider on a mobile phone.

Congratulations Ash, you are the first person (other than myself) to lodge a post on the shiny new server. The old one was beginning to run out of space.

without this thread, I would not have noticed.
Seems a smooth transition, well done!

I had to re-enter my password- surprisingly I remembered it.

Let us hope the new server will remain uncontaminated by snow.

ps keep up the good work Nick.

Does the new server have snow flakes? I really like snowflakes at Xmas, can we have them?

There will be snowflakes, but due to last year's outbreak of grumpiness the snow season wil be limited.

Logged in fine from MacBook Air, Safari 6.0.2. When I went to post on this thread it asked me to log in again. The details stored on the Mac were accepted; no problem there.

The icon that accompanies the 'Bookmark' (Apple's equivalent of My Favourites) has changed from the Bluemoment Logo to a pair of red parallel lines. I reloaded the bookmark but the new bookmark defaulted to the red parallel lines as well.

That's a bit odd . . . I get the old BM favicon even in Safari (for Windows).

The red parallel line thingy is the default Plesk favicon. If you delete cookies and browsikng history it will ptrobably fix it, but frankly it's not worth the hassle.

I think that someone must have unplugged the server so that they could plug in the Christmas Tree lights - time to splash out on a 4 way block.....
