What's wrong with me?
I've just got back to Gourock from a wee meander to the Roond Mull race, Stornoway, Wet Highland Week with a few places in between. What I don't get is a overwhelming urge to chatter on t'internet about my heater, leaky manifolds, what I had for breakfast or anything very much at all. Should I seek help?

Either not enough things go wrong for you or you need to get out less, can't decide which but I hope that helps.

Maybe you're spending too much time alone and are becoming introverted.marisca wrote:I've just got back to Gourock from a wee meander to the Roond Mull race, Stornoway, Wet Highland Week with a few places in between. I do seem to remember reading some posts about your race exploits.
If everyone was the same, then the world would be a boring place.
As long as the post titles are reasonably explicit and truthful, then you should be able to make a decision not to read any that don't interest you.
I don't race, but I take a passing interest in your results because you post here, I take an interest in the results of 'Allsorts' because she is my berth neighbour, I take an interest in the results of 'Mayrise' because we met the crew in Portavadie when they had a problem with their engine/gearbox coupling on their way to WHYW.
It could be worse - it could be facebook or tweeting.

Re: What's wrong with me?
Sorry Ash, wasn't aimed at your blogs of travel with very useful info on moorings etc.. T'was more at a colour blind gnome of my acquaintance whose co-owners have to charter other (more modern) vessels to get away from him.
As for things not going wrong - there was the big rip up the genoa, hope Owens can create something from the remains; the wee leak in the bilge pump diaphragm that, 'cos I carry a spare, I smugly tried to replace and sheared the pivot bolt but Stornoway Fisherman's Co-op were on hand; the ST2000+ that decided to visit the Mull of Kintyre cliffs less than 2 months after repair, replaced via Sean at Nancy Black's; and I'm sure there must be more.
Nope, that didn't make me feel better, just reminded me how much money I've spent!

I wasn't at all offended - I had hoped that my reply gave that impression - I keep thinking that Nick really needs a 'tongue in cheek' emicon.marisca wrote:Sorry Ash, wasn't aimed at your blogs of travel with very useful info on moorings etc.. Communication can be more difficult when there is no tone of voice or body language involved. Texts are worse because one tends to condense the information.

Re: What's wrong with me?
Well I had an excellent breakfast this morning, a fine Tom Yum for lunch and a delicious risotto for dinner. We are now enjoying a Highland Park in Pierowall and our exhaust system seems to be working without leaks, thanks.
To put it another way, awa and bile yer Heid ye daft auld blimey. At least we managed to get along the Moray coast without carelessly abandoning important items of safety equipment.
