As the chilly Orcadian rain bounces off the deck I am just in the process of firing up the Dickinson Newport diesel heater. Possibly the finest device of its general kind ever invented and definitely the most admired below decks item in Cherry Ripe's inventory. It's a bit chilly at the moment but in half an hour we will be toasty warm, and without the antisocial roar and battery drain of the Eberspacher.
Do any of the company have other favourite aids, other than stuff in bottles, to comfort aboard?

Re: Comfort aboard
I must say that was one of the most desireable features I saw when I met you in Inverness. Lovely boat all round, and nice to put a face to a name. Hope you are enjoying your trip north. I'm back in Peterhead as of yesterday PM.

I really miss the Dickinson I had on the last boatie- I'd have another one tomorrow if there was somewhere on New Boatie to fit it..

Not exactly an item of comfort before but is now.Green Boat wrote:As the chilly Orcadian rain bounces off the deck I am just in the process of firing up the Dickinson Newport diesel heater. While at Tarbert a few wks ago and a little the worst after a few pigs ears too many I was woken at 0700 by the home made bilge pump alarm, got me out of my bunk faster than the speed of a striking snake.
Later discovered that the raw water intake hose developed a small but steady leak which rose the water level enough to fire up the pump.
Could be classed as an item of comfort if it prevents wet feet.
Although it almost caused other bodily areas to be ...!

Must admit I do like the ebber, when it is cold enough to need it.
