The end of an era

Post by Fingal »

No longer will Port Edgar users be required to learn the Port Ed Pontoon Shuffle, walking carefully down the row of screws marking the supports under the decking, for fear of broken deck boards and dreadful injuries. The new reinforced GRP mesh decks are being laid on the pontoons. What will Marisca whinge about now?

I'm pretty sure he'll manage to come up with something that's not quite to his liking - it's an age thing.

As I understand it, the reinforcement is only being done to that one main walkway. That is why they have allocated berths on its fingers to the most gravitationally challenged sailors amongst the PE clientèle.
(And no, Marisca is not on the reinforced section but a certain deuteranopic vessel is)

I like to learn a new word every few days, even if it's one for which I can see no immediate uses.

They are nice, aren't they. I particularly like the rounded ends which mean that Marisca will avoid scrapes and scratches when he parks. Somewhere in that fog the owners of Cherry Ripe, the fine greeen boat, were busily fixing stuff and cleaning the dirty bits. It has been better of late in fact we had a cracking late afternoon sail yesterday.
