Tidal Gates & ‘Distillery Bagging’

Post by Old_Glow_In_The_Deep »

Just looking for the ‘Tidal Gate Table’ which one of our very helpful Forumites compiled and published on here a wee while back.

This as I’m looking at going a little ‘further-a-field’ with some serious intent of ‘Distillery Bagging’ as I think it’s a 'jolly-good' ‘must-do’ activity / exercise. :)

Bear in mind that these timings are those Claymore thinks sensible limits for a 30' motor-sailer.

Slack water at some of those tidal gates varies dramatically between springs and neaps so there aint no substitute for checking the correct time on the day. Or so reckons I.

It works well enough particularly if you are trying to work out how soon or how late you can get through. Sometimes you will be pushing the tide a bit but not massively so.
