I don't do jokes online but this had me smiling.
Chap believes wifie is playing away games.
Chap writes to Agony Uncle explaining his reasoning which was basically that she was getting smartened up and going out a fair bit more than she used to. In addition, phone would ring and when he picked it up, someone at the other end put the receiver down.
Chap decides to try and catch wifie at it so he waits outside one evening at around her usual time of return and hid behind his boat which was parked in the driveway.
12:20 am, car arrives - wifie gets out and is buttoning up her blouse, then reaches into handbag and retrieves her drawers which she then puts on
At this point he notices a hairline crack in the bracket for the outboard motor and so asks Agony Uncle "Should I replace this or do you think I'd get away with a weld?

Have you considered using a bit of electrical insulating tape, that should hold it together for the season?
