Sore Leg

Post by ash »

We went down to Kip yesterday to pay the berthing fees, and a quick check up on the boat.

I noticed that one of the bow lines was showing signs of chafe so I added a backup line.

I was stepping down onto the cold, damp, wood planked pontoon from just forward of the shrouds in my (non sailing) trainers when my leading foot slipped. I dropped down on to my bottom and my trailing leg landed in the water catching the front of my shin on the edge of the pontoon on the way.

My exploit was minor league in comparison to Silkie's attempt at walking on water, and Aquaplane's pike with double twist but it stung for a while.

I think you would be better cutting a piece of tile rather than filling the area around the radiator pipe with pog. In fact, if you had done that today instead of faffing around in the wrong shoes you would not be suffering from shin sting.

Do you only have the one leg?
