What a daft idea, 5 "scientists" on a general knowledge quiz show! They didn't do too badly considering how narrowly focussed the team was. Surely everyone knows the key to a good quiz team is as wide a range of backgrounds as possible!
The Eggheads programme is the quiz equivalent of the old fairground Boxing booths where a professional fighter invites all comers & uses his skill to humiliate them regardless of their strength.

That did not escape us in discussions about who would answer what sort of questions. Luckily - we thought - Johnny Ball has an encyclopaedic knowledge of sport and Adam Hart-Davis has made history programmes, so that was two people we could blame if necessary. Erm, sorry, I mean, that was two areas covered.Arghiro wrote:What a daft idea, 5 "scientists" on a general knowledge quiz show!
I'm off to Port Bannatyne for the day tomorrow to check the boat. Just hope there aren't too many papparazzi at Wemyss Bay.

"Check boat" That sounds like a very good decision consedering the forecast on the west coast storm for wed.ubergeekian wrote:That did not escape us in discussions about who would answer what sort of questions. Considering putting two Hilti anchor fixings in the concrete and strapping my boat and cradle down, suppose it wont stop other boats from flying around though.
Wishing you all a belated Happy Christmas and hope santa was good to you.

Still haven't got there - too much festive season and too many warnings about services disruptions on the Calmac website. The old girls is a ashore, though, on a cradle and well sheltered behind the cliff at the back of the boatyard, so I'm not tooooo worried. Hope to go this week sometime.Clyde_Wanderer wrote: "Check boat" That sounds like a very good decision consedering the forecast on the west coast storm for wed.
