4 blue moorings SE of new pier, no pickups. Don't know who is maintaining or servicing if anyone, so use at own risk until further info available.
Plenty of room to anchor inside of moorings in 2-3m - sand and weed.

One trot of yellow moorings across the middle of the harbour, with pickups.
Another six blue moorings on the far side off sailing club slipway - some with pickups. Have been assured they are serviced annually.
£10 per night, pay at RNLI at pierhead.

The moorings are very close together - especially the yellow ones. If two >32' boats are moored together it would make sense to have fenders at the ready.

Lochranza
I don't quite understand why Lochranza and Catacol Sea Society are asking for donations of £12 per night for use of the mooring bouys which are laid and have been laid for many years by North Ayrshire Council.

Re: West Coast Moorings Updates 2011
Yes I've used the pontoon and left a donation each time I didn't know that the Sea Society had laid moorings I thought they were asking for money for use of the council laid moorings.little boy blue wrote:well, they have laid a few more and installed a pontoon for starters
The council also lay moorings at Brodick and Millport and are all free to use.
Sorry if I have misled anyone.

while not wishing to mislead either - my understanding is that the society have taken over the maintenance of the existing 5 buoys and laid 7 new ones.

Young guy in a dinghy will visit your boat at about 1700hrs and collect your £10.

Creggans Inn, Strachur, Loch Fyne
There are only 2 moorings, one of which is occupied by this small fishing boat, but it belongs to the Hotel, and they will move it if necessary.

That does look like a decent strop with a good yellow grab bouy though.
