I took our boat round the Mull to Loch Melfort last week. There were 5 boats out the water awaiting repair (or the go-ahead from insurers). The moody was a mess - large patches of ply glued in place to allow her to be refloated. I'm quite sure she can be fixed but it will be a long and rather expensive summer (of no sailing)..
One wooden long keeler was also rather beaten up. Not insured I was told.....
The guys at Kilmelford were fairly quick to point out some slightly sloppy mooring practices -using the rope under the pick up rather than the mmoring chain attached below it. Not removing anchors while moored. Not using drop pins in the chain in the stemhead fitting etc. I think one or two did drag?
It's always bad to see boats damaged.
