I couldn't help noticing that all the leaves on the trees in particular areas have been blasted brown. It makes it all look very sad and autumnal.

Now that you mention this, they are in the area north of Glasgow as well, not all the leaves on the tree, but usually on the windward side only. Never seen this before. The leaf stems must have been damaged. All the roads in our area were rendered impassable by fallen trees for a while, haven't seen that before in 25 years around here, but then again, trees in leaf attract greater loading..
