Logged Out?

Post by ash »

Is anyone else finding that they are being logged out.

I'm using my 3G dongle so maybe the fault lies there.

I composed a reply to Lady S's post and lost it because I was logged out.

Ash

Edit - took a couple of attempts to post this - but I remembered to control C first.

OK, I've given all the corners a good scrub out with CCleaner, and it seems to have done the trick.

I usually use CCleaner on a regular basis, but it could been a while since the last run.

Cheers

Edit - spoke too soon - bounced out again

Can you describe "bounced out" in more detail? What error messages do you get?

OK - I'm logged in - I'll write this reply and press 'Submit'

Ash

Edit -it didn't post - it went to the login page and said that I need to be logged in to order to post - I'm still in the list of registered users at the bottom of the page but maybe that doesn't mean too much.

I just need to remember to Ctrl C first so that I can easily retry

That last post was by me with your permissions and I had no difficulty. So... I dunno.

Browser security settings perhaps?

I suspect that it's something to do with using my 3G dongle - I'm still on a learning curve - don't worry about it if it's only me.

Not a direct response to the problem, but I have on several occasions and for various reasons lost a long-time-to-compose post which is always extremely annoying. I now have a wee Firefox add-in called "Text Area Cache Window": an icon lives at the bottom of the screen which, when clicked on, reveals all your previously typed text ready for cutting and pasting. Extremely handy.
