53kts and feeling cold!

Post by weatherman »

Hi everyone,

Just running through the latest SWIS forecasts.

Sustained winds of 38kts in the Gibraltar Point to Cromer area this evening, and a temperature of just 9C! bbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The forecast is here http://www.weatherweb.net/marine/area27.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the area forecasts are all at http://www.sailingweather.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not only that, the SWIS planning forecasts are forecasting 53kt winds for the Isles of Scilly later in the week (http://www.weatherweb.net/marine/5area8.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

We should therefore spare a though for the crew and passengers on the Ferry Hjaltland stuck in the North Sea. I recommend staying indoors and reading about ecume de mers and trailer-sailing around the West Coast of Scotland in the latest edition of the single-handed boat magazine, PBO.
