I wasn't paying as much attention as I might since I don't have any use for such a service and I was hearing about it from a liveaboard's perspective but not a freebie through the marina. AFAIR there was a ridiculous sliding scale starting at £3 for an hour reducing to £18 a month on a contract.

However you also get access to all the BT hotspots and I believe that if your home BB is with BT then then you get access to Openzone wifi free or very cheap at any rate.

Previous attempts to provide wifi at Dunstaffnage have been a shambles for various reasons so hopefully this will at last be a reliable service now that BT are running the show.

I've had a cursory look at internet dongles, and if I read it correctly, the O2 one gives free WiFi access through The Cloud and BT Openzone Hotspots.

A month by month contract can be as little as £5 / 500 MB with a one off cost of £9.99.

Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers

We have just booked in to Dunstaffnage for the winter, one of the reasons we chose Dunstaffnage was because they had btopenzone (oh & a bath :D ).
Having spent the summer in Kerrera (who offer a free wifi service) we struggled to get our emails let alone anything else.

We pay about £12 a month (min 18 month contract) and get unlimited download (within reason) and out of all the marinas we have stayed in this is by far the best signal we have ever had, we are on pretty much 24/7 and can easily stream bbc iplayer etc.
