Arrived Lerwick 23.00 this evening - gnarly sail / motorsail to Sumburgh Head then a very pleasant though cold and misty evening sail up here.

Re: Off the wall
Nick, if you're still there and Knight's Challenge is still there say hello to John and Janet from Mark Hitchin. Also if you got a couple of photos of Knights Challenge in situ that would be terrific!Nick wrote:.

Expect you're gone though!

Knight's Challenge is rafted up in Albert Dock (next door) - will take a snap and pass on your regards if there is anyone on board.Markie wrote:Nick, if you're still there and Knight's Challenge is still there say hello to John and Janet from Mark Hitchin. It's a small, small world! Hope they're well, seems to have been a tough trip. Janet's a bloody hero AFAIC.Nick wrote:Knight's Challenge is rafted up in Albert Dock (next door) - will take a snap and pass on your regards if there is anyone on board.

Re: Off the wall
We have just been having a drink with John and Janet in the Lerwick Boat Club bar. Great people and yes, on an hour or so's acquaintance I would say that I think your assessment of Janet is correct. They both seem in good spirits and there are no major problems with the boat. They are leaving just before seven tomorrow evening on the next leg to Lowestoft.Markie wrote:

We also met a guy who advertises on BM - Kipper Sailing - who is leaving at 3am this mornng. They had a bit of an epic coming up the West side of Shetland in a gale on Friday. It's a pretty tough race - respect to all the crews.
Re: Off the wall
Nick, if you're there for a couple of days longer and need any supplies brought up, let me know. Turns out I'm in Shetland on Friday so could drop round at lunchtime if you need anything. Would need to be hand luggage compatible.

That's very kind of you, but I think we are OK - Lerwick is pretty civilised these days. We are on Victoria Pier - drop by and say hello if you are passing - although we may be away on Friday as new friends have offered to take us sightseeing.MrMcP wrote:Nick, if you're there for a couple of days longer and need any supplies brought up, let me know.
