Yes, one I know!
It's the ruins of Invergarry Castle, former stronghold of the MacDonnells of Glengarry, on the shores of Loch Oich. I'm guessing that the boat strayed off course. Loch Oich is the highest part of the Caledonian Canal and was dredged when the canal was built. It's not unusual for boats to ground in the loch as the channel can be quite narrow in places. The Coast Guard can ask the Hydro to release water into the loch to raise the level which would normally refloat the boat. I don't actually know what happened to this particular boat though.

Spot on but from the look of it a higher water level is the last thing this vessel wants. No idea how she ended up like this - I rather thought one of our erudite forumites (or even Border Maid) might know.

Tam ("Ludd" on YBW) and myself surmised that he had "made a runner" for the shore after rapidly taking on water, possibly due to sprung planks. However, that is pure conjecture.......
